Hello there! I’m Rain, a four-kilogram ball of fluff and energy, and I just returned from the most pawsome adventure in Seoul, Korea! My human planned everything to perfection, from paperwork to treats, so I could experience a whole new world. Here’s my take on this unforgettable journey – from a dog’s-eye view.
Six Months of Waiting and Training (A.K.A. My Big Countdown)
Before we left for Korea, my human prepared for months. I had to get all sorts of shots (not a fan!) and official certificates. My human even took me to a vet in Korea for a health check, just to make sure I was ready to fly home.
And let’s talk about my travel carrier – it was my new little den! My human trained me to be super comfortable in it, so by the time we flew, I was a total pro at hanging out in there. We also went on fun runs and play sessions before the flight, which meant I could sleep through most of the journey.
The Big Flight with Korean Air
When it was time to fly, my human did all this stuff with paperwork and phone calls. Apparently, not all airlines let cool dogs like me fly in the cabin, but Korean Air does if you’re under 7kg (yay for being tiny!). My human and her friend even took turns in business class because Korean Air only lets one dog up there at a time. That’s how much they wanted me to be part of this adventure!
Packing Essentials (All the Important Stuff for a Pup)
My human packed everything a dog could ever need: my collapsible water bowl, my favorite treats, toys, and all my health documents. I felt like such a special pup with my own little suitcase of goodies! And let me tell you, having treats on hand was perfect for when I got a little restless on the flight. Korea: Land of Pet-Friendly Fun!
Once we landed, it was time to explore. Let me tell you, Korea is a pet’s dream! We stayed at Fraser Place Central Seoul – one of many pet-friendly hotels in the city. And guess what? Pets are welcome almost everywhere here, from cafes to parks. We even took taxis and subways, as long as I stayed snug in my carrier.
And the people in Korea? Super friendly! They kept stopping to say hi, and I think they were quite impressed with my cute looks (who wouldn’t be?).
Feasting Like a Local
Now, this was a surprise: my human didn’t pack all my food. Instead, we bought some ingredients at the local market, and my human cooked for me in the hotel room. I got to eat fresh pork from the market! I was a happy, well-fed traveler – not a bad deal at all!
Sightseeing & Making Memories
Every day was a new adventure. We visited cafes, strolled through pet-friendly parks, and soaked up all the sights. I stayed calm and happy throughout – I think my human was impressed with how cool I was. Maybe it’s because I’m her favorite!
My human had apps like NAVER map and Papago for easy navigation and translation, so we never got lost.
The Return Trip & Final Steps
Before heading back to Singapore, we needed a final check with the CAPQ folks. My human made sure we had all the right documents and booked an inspection appointment, so getting home was a breeze.
Rain’s Final Thoughts
Traveling to Korea with my human was a dream come true. I had the chance to explore, bond, and make memories that will last a lifetime. My human says traveling with a dog takes work, but I say it’s totally worth it – especially if it means more adventures with her. Now I know that the world is big, beautiful, and ready for me to sniff out! 🐾
